“IATF is the key event boosting trade in Africa. No other event brings together more professionals under one roof. In 2021, IATF’s theme will focus on the newly-launched African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) – a single market for goods and services across 55 countries, aimed at boosting trade and investment.”
This was the first big conference to be held at the Durban ICC since lockdown started in 2020 so there was a lot of excitement and enthusiasm from delegates to service providers. OD Media(PTY)LTD were requested to follow Pamela Coke-Hamilton who is the Executive Director of the International Trade Centre(the ITC is the joint agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations) and capture her meetings, speeches and important moments throughout the event. It was exciting to be back at the ICC and get to see all our colleagues hard at work at the conference throughout the week.
It was a unique moment on the opening day when 7 heads of state were present in the same room and each delivered an inspiring speech hoping to promote trade within Africa. Many ground breaking deals were done at the conference boosting confidence within the African market. What was exciting was the opportunities that were given to SME’s and the exposure that they got from the conference and the opportunity to do business with other SME’s and governments from other countries within Africa.
We can’t wait for the next big conference to come to Durban and look forward to capturing all the highlights and interactions that make these events so important.
